>Vince Cable to dance on Strictly Christmas Special

>I have a really heavy cold and have been pretty much out of it for most of the day.

There is so much I want to blog about but I will stick to the thing which has made me smile most: that The Almighty Vince is going to be appearing in the Strictly Christmas Special, dancing alongside Erin Boag who has been a ballroom world champion with Anton Du Beke.

She & Vince will be dancing the American Smooth. This is the ultimate in Fred & Ginger style Hollywood glamour.

Vince is already an accomplished ballroom dancer so we should be in for a treat.

When I can drag myself to the laptop, I’ll have a look & see if there is video of Vince doing the Quickstep with Alesha Dixon in 2008.

Vince will be up against, among others, John Barrowman who will no doubt be tightly clad in sparkly Lycra. This programme has something for everyone!

Hat tip to both Liberal England & Jo Swinson who tweeted the good news. I would like to see Jo paired with James Jordan for next year.

Update: Here is the video from 2008. I love Alesha’s comment about it being nice to get to know a politician better because it seems like they’re from Mars. Unfortunately there is also footage of Andrew Neill, but you can’t have everything.

    >Alex, I expect Erin will do a Foxtrot based American Smooth, but she doesn't have to – you can base them on Quickstep too, for example.
